2013 Annual Convention AND Nebraska Auctioneer/Ringman Championships

YES, you read that title correctly. We are proud to present the preliminaries for the Nebraska Auctioneer & Ringman Championships at the annual convention this year, with the finals being held at the Nebraska State Fair, September 2nd. It is our sincere hope that this new arrangement will give our up and coming auctioneers a reason to check out the convention, especially if they’ve never attended before.

The entry fee for the contests is $25.00 and you must be a member of the Nebraska Auctioneers Association. Contestants may register separately for the convention if they choose to. There will be a Ringman Champion chosen at the preliminaries and there will be 20 auctioneers chosen to move on to the finals.

We’re very excited to bring you this year’s complete convention! Craig Larabee is again going to conduct two real estate classes on Friday for those of you who require the CEUs. After that, the convention officially kicks off with some social time before our Pitstop Picnic dinner and fun auction. This year’s NASCAR look and slogan “Drive to Succeed” begs for you to bring items to the auction that fit in with that theme.

Our guest presenters:   Terri Walker from Walker Auctions/ Walker Benefit Auctions of Germantown, TN and Andrew Loudon, Baylor Evnen Law Offices, Lincoln, NE. Terri Walker will offer two presentations and her first is Saturday morning — “Getting Hired as an Auctioneer – Taking Advantage of the Latest Trends” a great topic for the new and seasoned auctioneer. In addition, a presentation on auctioning firearms, “Legalities in Performing a Firearms Auction,” is available on Saturday morning. Terri will return on Sunday morning with  “Fund Raising – What Sets an Auctioneer Apart from the Rest.” We also have Attorney Andrew Loudon from Baylor Evnen Law Offices, Lincoln, NE speaking on Sunday with “How Do the New Congressional Tax Laws Affect Your Business.”  Superior information for your business and you!

Saturday evening you’ll be able to mix and mingle with your friends at the KRVN Hospitality followed by the annual banquet with Auctioneer of the Year and Hall of Fame awards and some great food from the Holiday Inn!

Join your friends and colleagues for an uplifting prayer breakfast on Sunday followed by two seminars and a great convention closing luncheon with installation of officers and awards for the advertising contest.
