NEBRASKA AUCTIONEERS ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES
2009 BID CALLING CONTEST WINNERS

(Hastings, NE) The Nebraska Auctioneers Association (NeAA), a 230-member trade organization representing the auctioneering profession of Nebraska, announced the winners of the 2009 Bid Calling Championship on Sunday, July 26, 2009. The Championship Competition was held in conjunction with the Adams County Fair in Hastings, Nebraska. Twenty-eight contestants competed for the title in a live-auction with more than 400 spectators in attendance.
The competitors were judged on presentation, chant, voice quality, body language, and other elements of effective auctioneering along with a personal interview. Byron Bina, Bina Auction Service, Herington, KS, won the title of Champion. The Reserve Champion was Dallas Hansen, Hansen Auction Service, Plainview, NE. Placing third and  receiving the title of Top-Rookie Auctioneer was Courtney Nitz, Jack Nitz & Associates, Fremont, NE. 
Rounding out the Top-10 Finalists were: Ora Adler, Adler Auction Service, Juniata, NE; Travis Dougherty, Sandhills Auction Service, O’Neill, NE; Kelly Kliewer, Kliewer Auction Service, Aurora, NE; Brent McCall, McCall Auctions & Real Estate, Omaha, NE; Mathew Printz, Elm Creek, NE; Justin Schultis, Schultis and Son, Inc., Fairbury, NE; and Jeff Temme, Covered Wagon Auction, Petersburg, NE.
The champion won a trophy-belt buckle, plaque, and entry fee to the 2010 International Auctioneers Championship at the National Auctioneer Association Convention to be held in Greensboro, NC. The championship trophy was sponsored by KRVN Radio, Lexington, NE; the Top-10 finalist prizes and winners’ plaques were sponsored by Midwest Messenger of Tekamah, NE.
Judging the competition were: James Payne, Yankton, SD; Larry Theurer, Wellington, KS; and Molly Woodward, Broken Bow, NE. The Master of Ceremonies was Mike Nuss of Minatare, NE, the 2008 NeAA Bid Call Champion.
The Nebraska Auctioneers Association promotes the auction method of marketing by providing professional training and support for auctioneers in Nebraska. Russ Moravec of Moravec Auction Company in David City, NE is the President of the Association which is headquartered in Lincoln, Nebraska.
